I started Morning Cup of Coffee out of frustration as much as inspiration and perspiration. As a writer and constant imbiber of the American Culture, I have become increasingly disillusioned with what I read in magazines and newspapers, what I see on television and what I hear people say. We’re in an age where information, vetted or not, is sent out as gospel fact. We have newspapers which run stories that are, by and large, written by a handful of reporters that work for the Associated Press. I have nothing against the AP, per say, but the advent of newspapers relying upon them as their source of news has greatly diminished the jobs local newspapers used to have. Why have your local guy cover a national event when you can buy the article from the AP and have them cover the gun show down the street? Why? Because you should want to expose your employee to those events as learning experiences, but I digress…
I’m just really, really pissed at a lot of things and this blog will be an outlet for me and a few of my friends that work both in and out of the media to express themselves.
As far as the bells and whistles of my background, I’ve contributed to the following:
Wilmington News Journal
The Daily Times
Get Underground.com
Fightnews.com
Boxingranks.com (RIP)
Boxingtalk.net
The (Columbus) Free Press
Ear Candy
Razor Burn
Track Marks
Along the way I have met an odd cross section of people from porn stars, elite professional and amateur athletes, a former President and far to many others to be named.
I also briefly interned at Senator Joe Biden’s Georgetown, Delaware, office for a week between high school graduation and college (which began for me in July). Another fun fact is that I graduated from World Harvest Bible College in Columbus, Ohio, with an AA in Pastoral Theology. You’ll appreciate that one more as you read the blog.
I now live in my hometown. Other than spending time with my wife and son, I enjoy watching my old high school football team play and yelling at the television screen.
Cheers,
Tom Luffman

tom, I feel that McCain stood with his principles in 2008 but became a typical politician who is willing to sacrifice his principles to get elected. If he would betray his principles to get elected, will he betray them for his new cronies once president?

I attended the “Senator Joe Biden Leadership Conference” when I was a junior in high school. The year before I went to the Governor’s school where he encouraged me to go into public service.
